About Dr. Melvin

Dr. Melvin is board-certified in cardiology and internal medicine. He received his bachelor’s degree in brain behavior and cognitive science from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor and graduated from Michigan State University's College of Osteopathic Medicine in East Lansing, Michigan. He completed residency training in internal medicine, followed by a fellowship in cardiology, at Michigan State University. Prior to his medical career Dr. Melvin served in the United States Marine Corps and was recognized with the Select Marine Corps Reserve Medal, Armed Forces Reserve Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Meritorious Corporal Promotion, National Defense Service Medal and Meritorious Mast for duty during Operation Iraqi Freedom II.

Dr Melvin was drawn to medical cannabis through interactions with his patients in his cardiovascular disease clinic. He saw many patients who reported many benefits in their physical and mental health with medical cannabis. This sparked his independent study of medical cannabis and his eventual certification as a medical marijuana provider. Dr Melvin is excited to provide an alternative healing process to his patients and to better their quality of life.

In his free time, Dr. Melvin enjoys spending time with his wife, son, and daughter going to the beach, scuba diving, snowboarding, and attending car events. Dr. Melvin and his family are fans of Ford Performance Racing, Porsche Motorsports, Squadra Corse Lamborghini Motorsports, Indycar Racing, and the International Motorsports Association. He and his wife have attended multiple Ford Performance Racing Schools. Dr. Melvin and his family have lived in Bay County since 2021 and have fallen in love with the area and truly enjoyed growing into the community.
